So, have you gone to Sniagrab for your new gear yet?!

This might be even bigger news than this much snow this soon!

YIPPEE!!!
Here's a surprise snow! Just when I thought I'd never see any significant snow again. Jasper the Snowdog and I are happy to have a few inches. It takes 4" or more to qualify for a Snow Update. But the good news is that it is still snowing! Our Smokey the Bear sign had been back up to High this week (after blessed weeks of lots of regular precipitation and the sign on Moderate), so it's good to have some snow. (The Smokey the Bear sign out on the highway tells us what the chance of forest fire is... an important piece of information when you live right next to a National Forest and in such a dry place!)

June 13, 2001!

The last snow of last season wasn't enough for a Snow Update on it's own, but...

To the South, from the front door...

Notice that the ugly chain link fence (which keeps Jaspy out of the way of bears) is gone.

Jas the snow dog

I love snow, but I love unexpected snow the best!

Considering I was in Phoenix earlier this week where it was 113 degrees (yes, Fahrenheit!), and that I had shorts on the rest of this week here, this is pretty cool in many respects. It was 30 when I woke up this morning.
;-))

Summer was great up here in the high country this year! And with all the precipitation we've had to re-build the water table and a decently snowy
winter, the wildflowers next year ought to be spectacular!

Although this is one of the last, though I hope not the very last, issue of the Snow Update, I've finally improved some things. I fixed the fonts so you should be able to read this on anything newer than a PC Jr.! (If you don't know what that is, don't worry about it... it's an old computer.) Also, it is narrower to allow you to see it on smaller and coarser screens than I use to lay out the page. When it didn't show up right on my laptop, I just completely re-did the layout and checked the code twice. I hope it works for you.

Email me! (Just one of my MANY email addresses.)

Yep, my house is for sale. Telecom seems to be dead... at least for a while. Because of that, jobs are pretty scarce in Denver while there are many people to fill the available jobs! Jobs where you can telecommute as I have been doing for the past two + years are even more scarce. So, since it is time for a change, I decided to make it a pretty radical change. If things work out as we hope, I will be moving to the Phoenix, Arizona area where there is no snow. The lack of snow is NOT the attraction. Most of you know what/who that is... now that Lisa has hung up her skis, it is my favorite ski partner.

So I am waiting for the house to sell or for me to get some sort of employment somewhere. The perfect job (with a really sweet salary and reasonably priced direct flights to PHX) just might lure me elsewhere, but I have a pretty strong preference for AZ right now. How Jaspy will take this is not known. But I'll try to ensure that he gets some trips to snow country to satisfy his thirst for the pretty, white, wet stuff... or I'll be making doggie sno' cones a lot!

So if you have always wanted a house in ski country within commuting distance of Denver, call my realtor, Patty Prisbrey, at ReMax Evergreen at +1.303.674.9770! (She's a great friend and realtor, but she doesn't get her email often enough.)

And FYI, yes, I intend to continue spinning wool, even in the hot place!
